Youth Innovation Lab (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of those who use our website, use our service, and our application (TagMe ). TagMe app is bound to a close group users for a specific purpose (Data collection for digital advocacy). The user of TagMe voluntarily contribute data that will be cleaned, analyzed, and visualized to communicate to the public specifically policymakers. The app, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to it will be with Youth Innovation Lab. Youth Innovation Lab is committed to ensuring that the app is as useful and efficient as possible. For that reason, we reserve the right to make changes to the app or to charge for its services, at any time and for any reason.

This Privacy Policy applies to app users. The Privacy Policy describes (1) the types of information we collect (personal information) when you access or use our applications (TagMe), products, and services; (2) how we use the information we collect from you; and (3) your choices regarding how we use or share that information.

  1. All staff of the consortium team of Youth Innovation Lab, Restless Development (Nepal), CREASION, and Center for Disaster Management Studies (CDMS)

  2. Contracted workers working with or on behalf of the Nepali Yuwa in Climate Action and Green Growth Project

  3. Service users (TagMe app)

Information we collect from you and how we collect it

Information you provide: When you interact with our services, we collect information that you provide to us. For example, many of our service requires setting up an account, so we may need to collect a few important details about you, such as your name, username, password, email address, phone number, and date of birth.   • Camera device and Audio. TagMe requires you to collect images and other information from your device’s camera and photos.

We may use your information in the following ways:

  • To improve the Services to better serve you (for example, TagMe collects and analyzes information on how visitors use various features of the Services, and uses that data to make improvements to the Services);

  • Service admins or project managers: Depending on the Services used, administrators, project managers, or other authorized users, which may include employees may have access to your username, email address, or other personal information.

  • Contracting Authoring: While reporting to the contracting authority, we may use your full name, email address, or other personal information to share about the use of the service and their contribution to data collection.

  • Legal Requirements: Youth Innovation Lab may disclose your personal data when such action is necessary to: comply with a legal obligation; protect and defend the rights or property of Youth Innovation Lab; prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service; protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public; and protect against legal liability.

  • Analytics: We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service. (Google Analytics): Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. What do we do with the data/information you submitted about climatic and environmental concerns? The data collected (waste data) via TagMe will be visualized in the map and data visualization web portal that will be publicly accessible. This data will be processed and analyzed to visualize on the web portal and communicate to the policymakers.

Safeguarding of Data

We use appropriate administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to prevent unauthorized access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorized modification, or unlawful destruction, or accidental loss of personal information.

Although we exercise reasonable care in providing secure transmission of information and storage of the information provide us through the Services, no method of transmission over the Internet, and no means of electronic or physical storage, is absolutely secure. Accordingly, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.

Transfer of Data

Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to TagMe data-visualization web portal and maintained on the server (cloud). Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

Links to other sites: Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us - theyouthcan@youthinnovationlab.org so that we will be able to do the necessary actions.

How long do we keep your personal data?

  • We store your basic account information – like your name, phone number, and email address.

  • Data collected for mailing purposes will be kept for the time necessary to fulfill the purpose of collection, namely until applicants unsubscribe from the mailing list.

  • The data you submitted via TagMe of the environmental and climatic concerns will be stored in the live server for six months and then a back-up of the data will be created for future use.

Modifications to This Privacy Policy

We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. All such changes will be reflected on this page and the date of revision will be noted at the top of the Privacy Policy. Please check the policy periodically for updates.
